What If-ville BEWARE!

What a weekend!  From Thursday to Saturday I put in almost 45 hours.  We did a fabulous wedding in Troy, Alabama.  It was gorgeous!  We met some new, awesome vendors and walked away with a happy couple and parents!  I will definitely post pics and stories soon!  But today, it's all about HIM.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a scripture from one of my daily devotionals out of "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.  It was Proverbs 16:9.  But when I read it, it was verse 7 that caught my ATTENTION!

7 When God approves of your life,
even your enemies will end up shaking your hand.

Far better to be right and poor
than to be wrong and rich.

We plan the way we want to live,
but only God makes us able to live it.

Oh, I LOVE IT!!!!  It's so awesome!  How stinking amazing is verse 7?!  What a promise!  When God is on our side NOTHING can stop us!  It's like Romans 8:31-32, "What shall we say about such wonderful things as these?  If God is for us, who can ever be against us?  Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?".

OMG!  WHAT A REMINDER!  Want to hear something even cooler?  This devotion was on June 18th (last Tuesday).  And little did I know, but God was preparing me for a situation.  This weekend I got a call about a little negativity towards me and The Barn at Pisgah Hill.  I have to admit on most occasions it would have sent me straight into "what if-ville".  What if this happens or what if this happens or what about this or this or this.  But not this time.  I simply said "You know what?  It doesn't matter."  The person I was talking to knew EXACTLY what I meant and simply said, "I know".  You see, I KNOW God has had his hand in this barn from DAY 1.  From the location of the land (295 feet from our house), to the crazy low price on the property, to the easy financing, to the tremendous support and help by family and friends.  Still not convinced, how about the fact that the hubs had almost 3 weeks off because he was between jobs right at the exact moment they were planning on starting construction?  SO, my point is God's favor is there!  It's smothered in IT!  ;)  And if this is true, do I really think he's going to stop now?  Of course not!  Do I think it will sit empty?  Absolutely not!  Why?  Because when God approves of my life, even my enemies will end up shaking my hand!

Please don't mistake this as me bragging on myself.  This is me claiming what God's word says and how awesome it is to skip the worrying about the what if's and letting HIM handle all of it!   When our mind starts to wander in that direction, STOP and think about these verses.  He gave up His only Son for us (Romans 8:32), do we actually think He can't handle our problems, our issues, our finances, our families, our addictions, our schedules, our hopes, our dreams?  SERIOUSLY?  I have used it a million times but it always seems to fit, "Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalms 37:4)  I told someone recently "God knows my heart and He knows theirs.  I'm going to let Him handle it".  AHHHHHHH!  It's so relaxing, so refreshing!  I don't have to lay awake in bed at night thinking about it and stressing over it.  I can put it in His lap and save my "laying in bed at night" for coming up with more big fat dreams.  ;)

As you can see, it hasn't bothered Whitlee too bad.  The header is still here!  LOL!

Day 1 of things I love starts with none other than KC, aka the hubs.  I will warn you this post may get mushy.  Heck, I may even cry.  But what can I say?  It's all true.  Kelly and I have been together for close to 20 years and married for almost 15.  I KNOW.........WOW!!!!  We met at a football game in 1993.  I ADORE hearing him tell the story of the first time we saw each other and how he can remember exactly what I was wearing (big time brownie points).  We dated for over 4 years and then I decided I couldn't wait any longer.  I was in nursing school at the time and knew the following August I would have a 2 week break between semesters.  So, what did I do?  I did what any control freak would do.  I came home one day and asked "do you want to get married August 22nd or the 29th".  Needless to say, we were married August 29, 1998.

No laughing and no making fun of the bowl cut.  He wasn't exactly thrilled I was posting this picture!

We have always been in love.  But I have to say, for the past 2-3 years I haven't been able to stop thinking about how much I love this guy!  My "addiction" for him really started when he decided to turn his life over to God.  I soooo wish I could remember the date, but I don't.  For years I begged for him to go to church with us, and he did on occasion.  But one day I realized, "hey Kelly's been to church with us 3 weeks in a row".  I was ecstatic!  Then I remember noticing a difference.  That difference you can't put your finger on, you don't know exactly what it is, but you know it's something.  It was God (tissue time).  How awesome?!!  This is another one of those stories I ADORE hearing him God changed his life.

I could list SO many things KC has done for me, how he spoils me, and ways he ROCKS my world, but that would get just plain sickening!  ;)  The fact that he puts up with and supports all of my "big fat dreams" is proof enough.

Since I obviously can't put him in the prize basket (sorry again ladies), I decided to giveaway something that is a new favorite of his.

We both are crazy about this book!  My mom gave it to KC as an Easter gift.  He couldn't stop reading it!  The following week we went to her house for lunch.  He thanked her for the book and said that for the first time he really felt like God was speaking to him.  Of course, I cried and fell in love with him all over again!

Ok ok, dry your eyes and head back to my earlier post to refresh your memory on how to win the goody basket that will include this AMAZING book.
