Rest Day | The Man Cave

6 Days, 5 Hundred Dollars, 4 States, 3 Kids, 2 Auctions, and 1 Big Honkin' Trailer

The official day 1 of our vacation is off to a great start.  We were all wiped out from the 8 hour drive last night and slept LATE!  I think we actually had to wake Erin and Reed up.  For those of you that follow my blog, you have probably read about my dad and his pampering skills.  WELL, let me just say, he is already showing out!   When we managed to roll out of bed, we found smoked sausage, cheese grits, and biscuits on the stove and a pot of fresh coffee.  All hot and ready to be devoured!  YUM!  After breakfast, Barbara (my stepmom) took all 3 kids to the nearby skate park and then they're headed to the local mall.  :)

This day will consist of eating massive amounts of junk food, watching movies on the big screen, and doing absolutely nothing.  The majority of this will take place in Dad's man cave.  Outside of their house, sits a 16x20 detached garage turned man sanctuary.  It is complete with comfy chairs, a fluffy couch, a stocked mini frig, a 9x10 movie screen, hundreds of movies to choose from, a basket of chocolate (rolos included), and tons of "Pop Pop Pampering".  As I type this post, I am lounging in one of Dad's old t-shirts, movie playing, wi-fi on, A/C remote at my side, feet propped up, Rolos within an arms reach, and happy as a clam!  HAPPY 4TH of July y'all!

Don't forget to enter the giveaway!  Details here!   I'm thinking there has to be some sales tomorrow!  ;)

The Le Rae Life Road Trip

Do y'all remember me talking about the church pews I bought?  A couple of months ago I found 8 antique church pews in South Carolina.  They were located about 30 minutes from where my Dad lives and were a STEAL.  Dad went, checked them out, hauled them to my uncle's house, and stored them for me.  Now, it's time to go get 'em!  These pews are 15' long, which means it will take a long trailer to bring them home.  Luckily, my partner in crime, Leah grew up hauling horses and is an expert at pulling one!  On Wednesday, Leah and I are taking a Road Trip!

When I told Leah about our travel plans, there was one MUST.  We had to be in South Carolina on a Monday.  Why?  The So-lina auction.  I've only been once, but let's just say by the time I left that day the auctioneer knew my number by heart!  It was so fun and a total adrenaline rush!  A huge open field with rows upon rows of treasure!  I can't wait!  And as if I couldn't get any more excited, Dad called last week and said there would be another auction on Saturday!  I sure am glad we are taking a trailer!  ;)

I'm not sure how much internet I will have but I promise to blog as much as possible.  You can follow me on Instagram for all of our fun pics and live updates along the way!

We are sure to bring home some great stuff and of course I'm going to share!  When we get back, I will giveaway one of our fabulous, "shopping frenzy" finds.  Here's how to enter:

What If-ville BEWARE!

What a weekend!  From Thursday to Saturday I put in almost 45 hours.  We did a fabulous wedding in Troy, Alabama.  It was gorgeous!  We met some new, awesome vendors and walked away with a happy couple and parents!  I will definitely post pics and stories soon!  But today, it's all about HIM.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a scripture from one of my daily devotionals out of "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.  It was Proverbs 16:9.  But when I read it, it was verse 7 that caught my ATTENTION!

7 When God approves of your life,
even your enemies will end up shaking your hand.

Far better to be right and poor
than to be wrong and rich.

We plan the way we want to live,
but only God makes us able to live it.

Oh, I LOVE IT!!!!  It's so awesome!  How stinking amazing is verse 7?!  What a promise!  When God is on our side NOTHING can stop us!  It's like Romans 8:31-32, "What shall we say about such wonderful things as these?  If God is for us, who can ever be against us?  Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?".

OMG!  WHAT A REMINDER!  Want to hear something even cooler?  This devotion was on June 18th (last Tuesday).  And little did I know, but God was preparing me for a situation.  This weekend I got a call about a little negativity towards me and The Barn at Pisgah Hill.  I have to admit on most occasions it would have sent me straight into "what if-ville".  What if this happens or what if this happens or what about this or this or this.  But not this time.  I simply said "You know what?  It doesn't matter."  The person I was talking to knew EXACTLY what I meant and simply said, "I know".  You see, I KNOW God has had his hand in this barn from DAY 1.  From the location of the land (295 feet from our house), to the crazy low price on the property, to the easy financing, to the tremendous support and help by family and friends.  Still not convinced, how about the fact that the hubs had almost 3 weeks off because he was between jobs right at the exact moment they were planning on starting construction?  SO, my point is God's favor is there!  It's smothered in IT!  ;)  And if this is true, do I really think he's going to stop now?  Of course not!  Do I think it will sit empty?  Absolutely not!  Why?  Because when God approves of my life, even my enemies will end up shaking my hand!

Please don't mistake this as me bragging on myself.  This is me claiming what God's word says and how awesome it is to skip the worrying about the what if's and letting HIM handle all of it!   When our mind starts to wander in that direction, STOP and think about these verses.  He gave up His only Son for us (Romans 8:32), do we actually think He can't handle our problems, our issues, our finances, our families, our addictions, our schedules, our hopes, our dreams?  SERIOUSLY?  I have used it a million times but it always seems to fit, "Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalms 37:4)  I told someone recently "God knows my heart and He knows theirs.  I'm going to let Him handle it".  AHHHHHHH!  It's so relaxing, so refreshing!  I don't have to lay awake in bed at night thinking about it and stressing over it.  I can put it in His lap and save my "laying in bed at night" for coming up with more big fat dreams.  ;)

It's Happening!

Kelly, Mr. Frank, and Jared

Kelly, Mr. Frank, and Jared

On my way to work Wednesday evening (I work once a week as a nurse), I drove to the land to tell KC bye.  THIS is what I saw.  The FIRST pole being raised.  I was ecstatic and mad at the same time.  I jumped out of my truck and yelled "I can't believe y'all are going to start this knowing I have to go work tonight".  They knew I was "jokingly" mad.  They all grinned.  Mr. Frank looked at me with that smirk of his, and said "you just wait until you get home tomorrow".  It was SO hard for me to get back in my vehicle and drive to Montgomery and miss it all!

When I got off of work Thursday morning, I had a few errands to run.  Although I had been awake for almost 30 hours straight when I got home, I couldn't lay my head down until I got another look at their progress.

WOW!  In that short time, one pole had turned into a whole wall.  They had also raised 3 of the 6 large poles that will hold the half ton trusses.  I was in awe of the size of it all.  Word on the street is that by Sunday evening this 52 x 60 rustic barn will be framed.  I cannot wait and of course I will post pictures for those of you who can't see it in person!

Y'all pray with me for God to give strength and safety to all of these awesome men helping make this big fat dream come to life!

ISAIAH 40:28-31 (MSG)

28Have you never heard?
    Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
