Mood Board Monday

We are sliding in at the last minute with our Mood Board Monday.  But with this little nip in the air, I've started thinking about fall.  While searching for a little inspiration, I found this amazing picture (top right in the below collage).  It is oozing with fall colors and an old world feel.  I can so see an entire wedding designed around this 1 single image.  Picture it with me;  the ceremony focal point is old iron fencing with rich colored florals hugging the top curve of the gate.  The reception would have a dark wooden custom made bar and behind it a faux finished painted wall adorned with gorgeous candlelit sconces.  Tables would be covered with "I'm not peach, I'm not orange" linens and surrounded by wooden chairs.  So warm and inviting.  It screams Italy in the fall (not that I have ever been but one can dream).  Are you in love as much as I am?

Mood Board Monday by Whitlee

While Rae is busy styling a dreamy photo shoot, I offered to step in and help set this Monday's mood. Think: champagne, city lights, soft melodies, tuxedos, and shimmer. January 10, 2015, Le Rae Events will design a wedding like you've never seen before. And I'm thankful that it will be mine! A palette of copper, cranberry, gold, and nude will set the night's tone for this magical winter wedding. So, put on that gown and some fancy jewels and we'll see you soon!

Mood Board Monday

This weekend Leah and I did a little pickin' for our kids' school auction.  I bought the cutest little vintage peony tin.  It is green and white stripes with a gold lid and black typography.  The front of it has one of my favorite flowers, a blush peony.  Yesterday, I was sitting at my desk looking for a little inspiration for our mood board today and voila there it was.

That antique drink cart is to die for!  Top it with vintage green glasses of champagne for a fabulous little drink station or fill stemless, gold rimmed martini glasses with fresh made caesar salad to be passed around to your guests.  YUM and keeping with the colors!  If this were a Le Rae wedding, there is no doubt there would be a gold leaf focal wall somewhere!  I can hear Leah and KK cussing me now for that project.  Nude roses such as Sahara or Quicksand along with blush peonies would add a needed softness to it all.  I'm smitten!  Are y'all?

Mood Board Monday

My good friend Whitlee and I chat about business all of the time.  A few weeks ago she insisted I start doing "Mood Board Mondays".  This would be where I create a wedding (or party) inspiration board each week and share it with y'all on Mondays.  Last night I decided I would start today.  But hmmmmmmm.........what would I use for inspiration?  How about my hubby's outfit he wore to church this weekend?  It's funny where and how we can get inspired sometimes.  Yesterday morning, Kelly asked me to pick out a shirt for him to pair with his jeans.  While thumbing through his options, I found a classic oxford button up.  This was one of my Kohl's frenzy shopping finds and the tag was still on it.  I even gave him the "ok" to wear his boots (sorry - not a fan).  Boots or no boots, it was head to toe yumminess.  Needless to say, that mental picture stayed with me all day!  LOL!  But somewhere along the way it turned into visions of an airy, natural, and relaxed blue and white wedding.

I can see it now; dark, wooden tables softened with white florals and linen hemstitched runners.  Stark, white plates topped with casual, hand lettered menus or placecards would be the perfect, laid back touch.  And if you really wanted to splurge, how about white slipcover couches and chairs dressed with blue patterned pillows for a crisp and cozy lounge area?!  Doesn't this scream relaxed?!
